Danish robot specialists develop technology for localising hidden dangers in Ukraine
This initiative is a collaborative effort between Danish companies and knowledge organisations to push the boundaries of technology and contribute to global security and reconstruction efforts.
Safer, faster, smarter demining through Innovation
The DISARM project brings together Danish technology firms, robotics experts, and research institutions to develop an autonomous robotic solution for detecting and clearing unexploded ordnances (UXOs) and landmines in Ukraine. The core solution consists of mobile robots equipped with advanced sensors, including:
- Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) – to detect buried objects.
- Magnetometers – to differentiate between UXOs and other metal debris.
- Multi-sensor integration – to improve detection accuracy and minimize false positives.
By replacing manual detection methods with robotics, the project aims to accelerate demining efforts, improve safety, and reduce costs.
The project has been funded by the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science through Innovationskraftbevillingen 2021-2024.
