Sund & Bælt continuously inspect and maintain their bridge. However, one of the biggest challenges they face is that more than 600,000 square metres of steel and concrete are very inaccessible.
Together UAS Denmark, Odense Robotics invited them to to participate in a “Reverse Shark Tank” – and they accepted.
12 smaller companies got the opportunity to present an unique solution for Sund & Bælt, and all SUnd & Bælt had to do was to sit back and enjoy the variety of innovative solution for their challenge.
The biggest bennefit of inviting smaller companies to present their solution is, that large and established companies usually have a standard way of doing things, but these small start-ups think outside the box.
”We have an ambition to be the best in Europe when it comes to inspection and maintenance of bridges. No matter how much we praticed, we couldn’t get any better using our manual methods. This lead us to investigate whether we could use digital technology to reach new heights. Here we encountered a wealth of exciting start-ups, who are performing extremely strong in the newest technologies. If we had taken the normal route we wouldn’t have been presented with these solutions”
